Executive Director of Voice, Vision, and Impact

About the role

The Executive Director of Voice, Vision and Impact is a new and critical role in our future. You will lead a wide portfolio that includes communications, brand, internal engagement, public affairs, policy, governance and stakeholder relations.

You will shape our external voice and national reputation, ensuring that Hft is recognised as a trusted, forward-thinking organisation that puts learning disabled people at the heart of everything. You will lead on narrative development, media and campaigns, and be responsible for building partnerships that amplify our reach and influence.

You will also oversee internal communications and governance, working closely with our CEO and Trustees to ensure effective structures and modern, responsive leadership. This is a highly visible role that stretches across strategy, culture and connection.

About you

You may come from a communications, policy or engagement background. You may have worked in the charity sector, public services or a purpose-led organisation. You will be a natural storyteller, a confident strategist and an emotionally intelligent leader.

We are looking for someone who can operate with clarity, build trust and shape meaningful conversations across diverse audiences. You will be able to engage with media, policymakers and families while also bringing energy and coherence to internal communication and governance.

Salary: Up to £110k, plus generous benefits

Working arrangements: Working arrangements-Home based with meetings in Bristol or other locations  on average 4-5 days per month
