Thank you for your interest in joining Hft at this pivotal moment in our journey. These are exciting, stretching and immensely rewarding roles, forming part of a newly shaped Executive Team that is leading our organisation out of turnaround and into transformation.

Hft is a national charity with a proud history of supporting learning disabled adults to live their best lives. But recent years have been challenging. Like many organisations, we were hit hard by the impact of Covid, Brexit and sector-wide workforce instability. By 2022, our financial position had become unsustainable, and urgent action was required.

Since then, we’ve achieved a remarkable turnaround. Through resolute leadership, hard decisions and a whole-organisation effort, we’ve cut a £16 million deficit by over £12 million, significantly reduced our reliance on agency staffing, and started to rebuild service quality. And we’re not finished. Our next phase is about transformation. We are embedding sustainability, re-energising our culture, and delivering services that are both excellent and values-led.

These two roles – Executive Director of Growth, Giving and Living, and Executive Director of Voice, Vision and Impact – are critical to that mission. They are new, permanent appointments to a refreshed and highly motivated Executive Team. You will join an organisation with a clear strategy, an honest culture, and a leadership group that values courage, collaboration and clarity of purpose.
